We are a group of citizens working together to save Long Beach Island and the ocean from the destructive impact of the proposed wind project, and offer sensible renewable energy alternatives. We are a not-for-profit, non-partisan organization and do not endorse any candidates or politicians, but we do aggressively pursue programs, policies, and actions to protect the Island. Benefits and Risks of Offshore Wind Projects
Introduction
There has been and continue to be much misinformation about the benefits and damage from
offshore wind projects. Based on Save LBI’s professional level research over the past four years
with respect to the Atlantic Shores project, we provide below what we believe represents both the
unfounded and well-founded information regarding that project. Many of the issues for that project
are found in others.
We hope that offshore wind project proponents will read this, and if their goal is reducing
greenhouse gasses, consider the many other alternative ways of doing that that are far less costly
and environmentally damaging.
